The Aims of Trimley St. Mary Primary School

At Trimley St Mary Primary School we aim to...

-create a safe, secure and happy environment where pupils are motivated, challenged and inspired and where creativity can flourish;

-develop pride in the school community through a culture of tolerance, co-operation and respect for self and others;

-provide equal access to a high quality, broad, balanced and appropriate curriculum enabling each pupil to reach their full potential, both academic and social;

-develop confident, positive and independent pupils who take ownership of the learning process, recognise that they can succeed and are keen to learn;

-encourage parents and the wider community to become active partners in the education process and life of the school;

-promote high expectations in all areas, recognise achievement and celebrate success.
The Ethos of the School

The school exists to serve the community and in particular the young children living in it.

It is a partnership between parents, the staff, Governors and the Local Education Authority to promote the development of the children.

The main tasks of the school relate to the teaming of skills by the children and their intellectual, physical, emotional and spiritual development. The children know what is expected of them in terms of behaviour and attitude to work.

The children are seen as individuals, each with a unique potential. They experience a curriculum planned for all children, modified to match individual needs.

The children are also members of the school and of a wider society. Their development as social beings is promoted as they experience caring and trust and as they learn to be sensitive to the needs and wishes of others.

The success of the school may be judged by the extent to which the children enjoy their experiences and are enriched and empowered by them so that they can contemplate the past and the present with self respect and face the new with self confidence.
